Many rocks possess a distinct aesthetic appeal either by shape or color. Rocks have long had a place in healing ceremonies as “grounding stones” – places where certain energies could be directed safely. Some sedimentary rocks have become crystalline over time as have some cherts that may possess the remains of pre-Cambrian life. This ability of non-silica energy objects to command attention is an ancient remnant of our tribal past. Stones like these are useful points in a healing network but they do not possess advanced energy attributes. Great heat and pressure can change the nature of rocks and change them into stones that link to the Spirit of the Earth.
