Shaman in the City was called to mediate between the Spirit of the Earth and those who would restore Its healing presence in their lives. The energy of human spirits is sensitive to both social and technology pressures. We use our thoughts, prayers and energies to try and maintain some sense of spirituality in our lives. The tools we use - books, groups, objects, rituals and practices - provide help on our path. We also need the wisdom of the ages and of today to find our way.
In every place on the land, the spiritual energy of the Earth penetrates. It may concentrate, It may dissolve. Each of us has sensory abilities to find and utilize this spiritual energy. We may say that we feel this spiritual energy in certain places or within certain assemblages. This is the power of the Spirit of the Earth that is easily lost as we age and distance ourselves from Its sources. We can easily lose our path in the cities of today with people and their lives overtaking open space and ancient places being erased.
People in Western America live on land that was once far out in the Pacific Ocean that plowed into the North American continent, already ancient. Generations of island systems, small continental masses and isolated pieces of ancient volcanoes piled up. Plate tectonics will not be denied. It continues to cycle old oceanic crust up through volcanoes and rifts across each band of earth. Through heat, pressure and water, new rocks and crystals are created. Of course it will continue after we are gone.
Each place carries its own unique spiritual signature that now has become merged with the continent. Such places are usually identified geophysical features. The elements and pieces form features recognizable as spiritual expressions. Whether sculpted or metamorphosed, people are drawn to such places in attempts to rekindle their spiritual search. Shaman helps however possible to bring harmony to all the children of the Spirit of the Earth.
