There is a natural draw between healing stones and healers. In fields of emptiness they find each other. It can take a great deal of time to understand a healing stone and how it can be used. Much of this time is spent in evaluating reactions of the healing stones in healing situations. There is a built-in fail safe so that no combination of stone and healer can use any energy unbeknownst to either. Consistency of response within measurable limits of tolerance identifies the use of such stones in healing applications. The striped stones shown relate to healing of the head and upper body respectively. The non-colored stone is neutral however, it is used to close healing circuits or to provide a point where negative energies can safely flow. When other life presents us with treasures from the Spirit of the Earth, it reminds us that every creature is bound to every other. While the metaphysics of power stones and oracle stones go beyond the auric understanding of most creatures, those who live underground may select stones and move them to the surface. Two such stones are displayed here. Both were given to Shaman in the City by moles. Each stone was sitting on the top of a conical pile of dirt. The crystal stone has a clear “pool” of quartz on the right hand side of the stone. It is nearly a quarter of an inch deep. The other stone has a iron stain encircling it. These stones have spiritual impact.

Why do we stop and wonder when something is presented as a stone of wonder or a stone of power. A simple quartz crystal may seem powerful, but it is a natural occurrence of the earth. It is only in the presence of an energy field that such a crystal can exhibit other than petrologic processes. There must be great practice in tuning your own inner “crystal radio” to all of the frequencies presented. Immersing yourself in strong electromagnetic currents is one way of practicing. Power substations, broadcast clusters, powerful engines, generators, electrical batteries all produce intense fields. Weave your way through these and you begin to sense less intense sources. These are the energy fields that are integral to healing.
One of the fundamental beliefs in metaphysical healing is the Theory of Similarities. The mind of a person will arrange information in a way that fits the organizational structure that is a part of a person’s spiritual nature. An equivalent structure is occupied by the emotional information and of course there are others.
The Theory of Similarities is a tool that was given to us by the ancients. There never were guarantees that it was a complete nor universal tool. In most applications, that tool is a profound guiding compass in understanding metaphysical phenomena. Theories of healing usually address methodology rather than a systematic, energy-based structure. However, this does not in itself enable diagnosis nor the specifics of cures composed of elements of different spiritual paths. Many healers specialize in specific forms of healing. This can lead to situations where you practice healing using the only tools you have.
It would be far better to have available any and all healing tools. The combination of multiple techniques is recognized, even in traditional medicine, as one healing tool in the treatment of complex or persistent illnesses. Healers can then provide palliative methods and tools that can be used over a longer period of time than healing sessions. The educational component of healing is perhaps the greatest thing a healer can do. Move the treatment back to those who need healing. Stones are formed by many processes. They are reformed by heat, pressure and tectonic forces. Stones most often break and wear to sand. Others can and have been broken but have somehow healed and stayed alive. The forces of the Spirit of the Earth are unimaginable.
Stones may sometimes be affected by the forces of heat and pressure. Some great motion tore this stone nearly in two. When the stone is grasped by the open end and squeezed, the stone will slightly give. It is an unusual feeling, a common stone that has a nature like that of a metal spring. The little block shaped piece in the triangular hole can be moved. It does not fall out.

There are a specific number of kinds of power objects. This is what differentiates them from rock. Rocks, without exception, have little energy beyond a basic magnetism acquired in cooling. Volcanic rock is usually very homogeneous, basalt being a good example. Even rocks like “granite” or its ancestor, sea floor gabbro that are natural mixtures do not contain pure silica components at a metaphysically usable level. Of course all rocks have a spiritual nature, they were created by the Spirit of the Earth and provide the form of our world.
Rocks that have undergone a metamorphosis become stones by spiritual definition. They acquire a link to the energy fields that rocks do not posses when they are formed in hardening or in compaction or concentration or sedimentation. Many rocks possess a distinct aesthetic appeal either by shape or color. Rocks have long had a place in healing ceremonies as “grounding stones” – places where certain energies could be directed safely. Some sedimentary rocks have become crystalline over time as have some cherts that may possess the remains of pre-Cambrian life. This ability of non-silica energy objects to command attention is an ancient remnant of our tribal past. Stones like these are useful points in a healing network but they do not possess advanced energy attributes. Great heat and pressure can change the nature of rocks and change them into stones that link to the Spirit of the Earth.
